China Censors 'Titanic 3D' For A Hilarious Reason

The Chinese community is used to not having things quite as 'liberal' as we have become accustomed to in the Western World, and while that is quickly becoming something of the past, news emerged today that China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) has censored Kate Winslet's nude scene in Titanic 3D - cropping the image to show only above the neck line.

The fact they have censored this is amusing in itself - but check out the reason given by a Chinese SARFT official:
"Considering the vivid 3D effects, we fear that viewers may reach out their hands for a touch and thus interrupt other people’s viewing. To avoid potential conflicts between viewers and out of consideration of building a harmonious ethical social environment, we’ve decided to cut off the nudity scenes."

Apparently, the movie-going experience in China is a little different to everywhere else in the world.
