You probably saw the numbers flash up on the screen but discounted the magnitude of the recent Mega Millions lottery draw in the US. The jackpot reached a massive US$640 million, and there have been three winning tickets confirmed.
Here's the cool thing - you have a choice how you collect your fortune. The upfront amount would "only" be US$157.8 million, but if taken over 26 years the winner's will receive an Earth-shattering US$218.6 million each.
But, apparently for some, $218.6 million dollars isn't enough. According to this New York Times article, one winner who was playing with a group of her McDonald's co-workers won't share her winnings, since it was her turn to pick up the group tickets that week.
Has anyone told her $218.6 million dollars split a few ways is still too much money to spend in a single lifetime?
