The long-debated topic of professional athletes competing in the Olympics received it's latest bump today, with the Miami Heat guard saying athletes competing for the Team USA in the Olympic Basketball tournament should be compensated.
At this point, Wade should probably pipe down and remember that he is one of the many athletes who is permitted to compete in the Olympics as a professional athlete on exception.
For the first time since joining Wade in Miami, LeBron James has come across as the voice of reason, saying "I love representing my country, man. I've done it since 2004 and I'm looking forward to doing it in London. As far as (pay), it doesn't matter. I'm happy to be a part of the team, to be selected again."
Since when is over $15 million not enough compensation for a full time basketball player anyway?
